As one of the leading companies in the retail sector, our client sells iPhone cases and protective covers. They have a unique collection of items, covers and other accessories compatible with Apple’s iOS devices. The products are of diverse kinds and consist of glass, wooden and plastic variants. The client has been serving the sector for years and owns a name as the leading seller of iPhone products and other related items.
As mentioned above, our client deals with phonecases and covers for the Apple devices. Till date, the store has been dealing with standard cases. The problem here was that every time a customer visited the store, the case packaging had to be torn apart, opened and then the demo was provided. Most of the times, customers would see 5-7 cases before finalizing on one.
This was not only tiresome but also damaged the original packaging of the cases. Denying customers wasn’t the right solution as it is regarded as the mandatory process. Customers are prone to testing and trying a product prior to making a purchase and similar is the case with iPhone cases.
Soon the store owner realized that they required an alternative solution to the above problem. It was then they reached out to the intellify asking for a solution. The Intellify is an app development company that excels in developing augmented reality solutions for all.
What the company expected was to have a solution that can ease their job of unpacking and packing phone cases every time a customer visits the store.
Upon reaching out to us, we scheduled an appointment to meet them and know more about their problems. An expert team connected with the company. As the initial phase, we started with having a detailed discussion on requirements.
Knowing what was the end goal, the first and the most important thing to be done was to assess whether or not, there could be a feasible solution for the same. As so it appeared, we could render the problem motionless with a marker-based AR.
We proposed the idea to the client and once they were convinced that the solution could help them better the situation, we advanced towards the next step.
Here, our software designers started working on the design and layout of the solution whereas the development manager created plans and strategies for the completion of the project. Each and every step was executed keeping the company in the loop so that the end solution is as they have anticipated.
As the final model is to relied on the concept of marker-based augmented reality apps, the next step involved the creation of 3D models that could support and back the idea. The addition of the 3D model’s within the ar app is utterly important as it enhances the visual experience.
The final app would have animations and interactions in real-time and one of our team was dedicated towards the development of such models that could embed 3D experience within the app. Though there are third party websites that facilitate the creation of 3D models, the intellify has in-house experts that own the knack to build exceptional models for a real-time experience.
Once, we were done with the creation of models, the next step and apparently the toughest one was to embed these models within the app to create augmented reality experience. The entire project was dependent on this step and our professionals took immense care when integrating 3D models within the app.
We had to place a scanner that would be placed on the package. Once done, the entire package would be virtually seen in real-time and users could have an improved view without actually placing their phone over the cases. As soon as the camera would capture the view, it would display the animation associated with it. This step involved creation of those animations that would capture the eye of the customers.
3D modeling and animations have proven to be the core of the project and our experts were very careful in assessing and testing the solution before final delivery.
The direct consequence of the creation of the marker-based AR app was the elimination of the need to pack and unpack phonecases whereas the customers could now have a better visual experience through the app. All that’s needed was to place the camera over the package and it would display the case in real-time as it has been placed on the iPhone. Users can also interact with the objects in real-time and have a fun experience.
